Many call it “modern day slavery,” and Tennessee is starting to see that it is happening in their own state. FBI Knoxville Agent Cynthia Deitle: “In sex trafficking, specifically, traffickers – or pimps – target young girls. Traffickers know where to find the victims, and they know a lot of young kids are on these social media sites.”
New research from Decrim Now exposes a stark reality: poverty, job insecurity, and the soaring cost of living are pushing more people in the UK into sex work simply to survive.
