Bay Area Invites Anti-Trafficking Expert

When three people from San Jose were arrested last November for trafficking victims from Spain, it made front page news, but the epidemic of human trafficking had been an issue long before that…

This article reports that The Saratoga Foothill Club invited the executive director of the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition, Betty Ann Boeving, to speak.  Her organization assists civic and community groups as they fight human trafficking.

Boeving explains, “Really, in the work that we do, probably the most eye-opening thing to happen [to people] is when a case happens in their own back yard, and then [they] are ready to act; they’re ready to say, ‘What can I do?’ ”
