Like You

Six people, five stories, one truck. Follow the lives inspired by real people as they experience the world of modern slavery.

Like You is a live physical theatre performance written by Bekah Lumb and directed by Sophie Imogen Wright, about the timely subject of Human Trafficking. Set in England, the production is based on real life events being portrayed in a dramatic adaptation. This show, put on by Footdown Productions, focuses on the journey of six young adults, five females and one Queer male, that are being trafficked in the back of a truck. Through their conversations they share with one another how they have ended up in the situation they are in. This project deals with different types of trauma, including how the characters have been manipulated and betrayed by people they trusted. Exploring themes such as drug trafficking, the porn industry, dating apps, travelling and sexual abuse, showing the audience just how close to home this subject actually is. The company will offer an ‘After- Care Package’ to provide the audience members with resources to aid them in making a conscious effort to be anti-trafficking and to consider ethical lifestyle choices.
