An initiative of newhope Church in East Africa (Kenya), Street Hope is a ministry focused on restoration and rehabilitation of survivors of sex trafficking in the Nairobi / Thika area.
Currently, Street Hope has a team in the US providing support and fundraising, while a team of native Kenyans are working to create a cycle of empowerment for men and women. Participants are connected to training, counseling, prayer and a supportive community.
Street Hope also offers employment opportunity through micro loans and startup grants, so survivors can start their own small business in their community. They are also launching an Artisan Group. The goal of the Artisan Group is for all participants to receive a living wage and safe working conditions.
They have a fundraising gala coming up November 4, but you don’t have to wait to get involved in this powerful new initiative. Sign up to send their team – and the survivors who participate in the program – a message of encouragement.
