UK Firms Must Prove No Links to Slavery

British companies will soon be required to publish proof online that they do not rely on international slavery…

The change is designed to make companies take accountability for their own labor conditions.  It’s the hope of the UK that such public information will let consumers make “more informed decisions at the checkout”.

These new rules will be enforced beginning Thursday.  Guidelines are published to let businesses know what information they need to disclose in order to show they do not have slavery in their supply chains.
