The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that Nevsun Resources, the Canadian mining giant accused of benefiting from forced labor in Eritrea, can be sued in Canada for human rights abuses committed abroad. Three Eritrean nationals brought the case against Nevsun alleging being subjected to forced labor in the Nevsun-operated Bisha mine.
