It was all part of a nationwide sting last week that involved children, some as young as 12-years-old. FBI Director, James Comey: “When kids are treated as a commodity in seedy hotels and on dark roadsides, we must rescue them from their nightmare and severely punish those responsible for that horror.”
In Brazil, the same industries that clear forests are also trapping workers in slave-like conditions. Behind cattle, charcoal and sugarcane production are thousands of people facing threats, unsafe conditions and extreme exploitation.
