Women Workers and the Climate Crisis
“Extreme weather events and unpredictable weather patterns caused by the climate crisis are forcing more and more people to migrate in search of livelihoods and security, both within their own countries and abroad. This coerced migration makes people, especially women, vulnerable to different forms of abuse, including exploitation and human trafficking. At this event, representatives of NGOs from different world regions will discuss the impact of the climate crisis on the migration and security of women and the rights violations that women experience as a result.”
