UN Security Council Wants Migrant Smuggling Stopped

United Nations Security Council today announced it will help “save the threatened lives of migrants or of victims of human trafficking”…

The aim is to disrupt criminal enterprises on the high-seas of Libya by use of force, through countries and regional inspections of ships.  They will seize and possibly dispose of vessels if they are even suspected to involvement with migrant smugglers.  The Council spoke out against maritime tragedies that led to hundreds of casualties that were … “in some cases, the result of exploitation and misinformation by trans-national criminal organizations which facilitated the illegal smuggling of migrants via dangerous methods for personal gain and with callous disregard for human life.”
