In Sierra Leone, World Hope International (WHI) is working to engage communities to help them better understand and protect against trafficking. Using a model similar to that of a community watch group, WHI has established 58 Village Parent Groups (VPGs) around the country to protect communities and encourage volunteer anti-trafficking advocacy and education.

WHI staff must travel across very difficult routes to get to each community. Inclement weather and other various conditions, like washed out bridges and roads, prevent easy passage for these community monitors, so the best solution for WHI staff to reach VPGs is by motorcycle.

Thanks to 38 members of ENDCrowd and one generous matching sponsor, 12 Stone Church, WHI now has a motorcycle. Without it, WHI staff would not be able to reach individuals working to combat trafficking in their communities.

The WHI staff in Sierra Leone is thrilled with the new bike and has told us it is “ready to climb and ride on rough and tough roads.” They are now able to go back and forth from 20 different communities with ease, training and teaching town leaders how to end human trafficking locally.
