Witness Protection before Thai Trafficking Trial Starts?

A major human trafficking trial is about to begin in Thailand and activists are calling for a strong witness protection  program…

This article tells of the upcoming trial pointing to 88 defendants allegedly involved in smuggling and trafficking Rohyingya Muslims who were fleeing persecution in Myanmar.  The investigation discovered 30 bodies buried in a mass grave near a trafficking camp.  Out of the 500 witnesses called to testify, only 12 will be protected.  Two have gone into hiding out of fear from threats and more are expected to follow.
