Race and ethnicity in the modern slavery research field

“This face to face event is for people interested in modern slavery and human trafficking research and who want to increase ethnic diversity in the field. You may work as a current researcher, in an organisation that funds research or in a community or survivor organisation that wants to do research and evaluation. The event will cover:

1. The goals of the BASNET Action Plan for research, evaluation and data,
2. A review of the place of race and ethnicity in the modern slavery research field,
3. Promising and ‘good’ practices to improve the diversity of modern slavery .

The day will include workshops with colleagues to share ideas and experiences. We have a small number of travel bursaries for people attending from community and survivor organisations.

This workshop is a partnership between The UK BME Anti Slavery Network (BASNET), University of Sheffield and St Mary’s University.”
