Friends of Earth File FOIA to Demand Answers

Friends of the Earth–with the support of labor, faith, and human rights groups–filed a Freedom of Information Act.  It is requesting the release of all State Department communications over the last two years.

The concern is primarily with Malaysia’s tier ranking in the 2015 Trafficking in Persons Report.  Last month, Friends of the Earth filed an individual Freedom of Information request which demanded information from Sarah Sewall, Undersecretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human rights.
