Is Decriminalizing Sex Work the New Anti-Reg Battle?

Throughout the US, sex workers are calling for decriminalization just as those wanting legalized marijuana.

Activists argue that laws that criminalize sex work is doing more harm than good.  Mistress Matisse says: “We all get arrested.  The idea that being arrested is helpful to someone – really, that people have been able to pull that idea off – is a masterful bit of sort of double speak. Because, no, no one is helped by being arrested.” Amnesty International agrees that the best approach to protect sex workers is to decriminalize them.   Some celebrities like Meryl Streep and Lena Dunham disagree, but the debate has caused much discussion about existing legislation.
