Pope asks Congress to Fight Slavery

During his recent visit to the United States, Pope Francis asks Congress to do more to fight Human Slavery…

Pope Francis:  “Such cooperation is a powerful resource in the battle to eliminate new global forms of slavery, born of grave injustices which can be overcome only through new policies and new forms of social consensus.” –

He would like to see more done to rid the glove of human trafficking.  When 21 million people worldwide are trapped in slavery, more must be done. Pope Francis spoke these words to the Capitol last week, urging more to be done to combat the scourge.  Criminals/traffickers profit $150 billion every year.  Statistics like these must drive the efforts to work together.
