Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 16 at a human stash house in Houston.

The bust included 1 suspected human smuggler and 15 people from El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.  Stash houses are buildings or houses where traffickers hide people they have transported and smuggled.  The smugglers are paid by those wanting to gain entry to the US.   The immigrants were taken to an ICE facility to eat, receive medical exams, and be interviewed.  Initially, the Houston Police responded to a call about loud noise in an area where many homes are vacant.   Two men were seen running from one of the residences and were apprehended.  The police swept the house and commanded everyone to come out.  There emerged 11 women and 3 men.  The officers, realizing it was a human trafficking situation, contacted ICE.
