As Assistant Dean for Alumni & Development at Duke Law School, Geoff manages the Major Gifts and Annual Giving teams, drives critical strategic fundraising initiatives, and serves as Regional Director in key alumni markets like New York. Geoff is also on faculty at Duke Law, teaching a course in Mergers & Acquisitions. Geoff has practiced law for almost 20 years in the areas of corporate finance, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions, and remains Of Counsel at Smith Anderson in Raleigh where he had been a Partner.
In addition to his busy law practice, Geoff has been a dedicated volunteer in the Triangle, serving on various non-profit boards including The Montessori School of Raleigh, the Association for Corporate Growth, and The Ronald McDonald House of Durham and Wake, where he served as Board President for two years. Geoff graduated from Duke University in 1993 with a B.A. in Public Policy Studies and later earned a J.D. at Duke Law School in 1997.
