SUMMARY:Twitter Space: Police files\, Bachelet and accountability
DESCRIPTION:Last week\, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet visited the Xinjiang cities of Urumqi and Kashgar. She reportedly visited a prison and said access was “pretty open\, pretty transparent.” \nMany activists and organizations campaigning against the systematic forced labor and genocide of Uyghurs and other minority groups in Xinjiang were profoundly disappointed by the visit. Many claim that the UN participated in a Chinese propaganda exercise and some groups are even calling for Bachelet’s resignation. \nThe Freedom United community will be coming together on Twitter Spaces to discuss Bachelet’s visit\, as well as recently released Xinjiang Police Files\, which contain more than 5\,000 police photographs of Uyghurs\, along with hundreds of pieces of evidence of arbitrary detention\, torture\, and forced labor\, among other forms of exploitation and abuse. \nJoin our Twitter Space to share your thoughts and ask your questions! \n
