DESCRIPTION:Join HEUNI\, the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control for a discussion on addressing labor exploitation in the European context. Three prominent researchers will provide commentaries from the perspectives of the UK\, Belgium and the Netherlands\, and Norway. \nProgramme: \n13:00 (GMT) / 15:00 (EET) – opening remarks \nResearch presentation Anniina Jokinen\, Anna-Greta Pekkarinen (HEUNI\, Finland): 10 minutes \nPanel discussion with:\nJon Davies (University of Manchester\, UK);\nAnette Brunovskis (Fafo Institute for Labour and Social Research\, Norway);\nAmy Weatherburn (Université Libre de Bruxelles\, Belgium). \nChair: Natalia Ollus (HEUNI\, Finland) \nClosing remarks \n14:30 (GMT) / 16:30 (EET) – end of the event

SUMMARY:Survivors and the Interplay of Exploitation with Learning Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:Co-hosted with the Snowdrop Project\, this online forum will investigate the under-explored correlation between learning disabilities and Modern Slavery. \nLearn more about the challenges that practitioners and survivors with learning disabilities face from experiences of navigating the NRM and asylum systems\, not receiving additional support in interviews\, issues surrounding undiagnosed learning disabilities and the absence of guidance for frontline staff in this area. \nSpeakers will also discuss recommendations on how the Anti-Trafficking sector can better support survivors with diagnosed and undiagnosed cognitive impairments and examine areas of policy change that could make it easier for survivors of trafficking with learning disabilities to access services. We hope this event will help spotlight these concerns and lead to tangible improvements for service users. \nJoining the panel: \n• Lara Bundock\,Snowdrop Project \n• Noelle Blackman and Rosie Creer\, Respond \n• Lisa Curtis\, Ann Craft Trust \n• Kevin Murphy\, NWG Exploitation Response Unit \n• Dr Alison Gardner\, RightsLab \n• Jennifer Blair\, Migrants Organise \n• Ann-Marie Douglas\, The Salvation Army
