I call on the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to reject fashion retailer Shein’s application to trade publicly, as Shein has consistently failed to provide transparent answers about its supply chain, including credible allegations of its links to the forced labor of Uyghurs in China.

The FCA is subject to the UK Modern Slavery Act and therefore must conduct due diligence to ensure that listed companies are free from forced labor in their supply chains. By allowing Shein to list publicly, the FCA risks enabling and legitimizing these practices.
